Animal of The Week

Hey people,
I have decided to post some information on a different animal, every week. Starting from today πŸ™‚
Today’s animal will be ….
The sloth

Sloths are South American mammals. They are medium sized. They are part of the order Pilosa and are therefore related to anteaters. Sloths are tree dwelling creatures and live in the jungles of Central and South America, and are well known for being slow moving and are hence named sloths. They eat leaves, buds and tender shoots mainly of Cecropia trees. But one type of sloth ( two toed sloth ) has been known to eat insects and reptiles. They have been living on this planet now for over 60 million years ago! Their bodies are approximately 50 – 60 centimetres long. They have a life span of 12 – 20 years but in captivity it is up yo 32 years.

  1. OHMIGOODNESS. I definitely did not know that baby sloths looked so incredibly different than adult sloths. I just want to pick him up and cuddle him and make him mine.
Also this is an absolutely fantastic blog. Considering I am an animal lover, it seems fit that I enjoy this one! Keep up the great work!
